m2ts only played as audio

Hi! I am trying to process some m2ts videos with Windows Movie Maker. I downloaded the new K-lite pack and although Windows Media Player does play the videos, when I import them in Movie Maker, it sees them as audio files.

I found this thread https://codecs.forumotion.net/t3191-mp4-playing-as-audio-file which is similar and tried to use the Codec Tweak Tool as is recommended but can't find how to disable Media Foundation.

Could someone please please help me with that or some other suggestion?

Movie Maker doesn't use Media Foundation.

Movie Maker is very unreliable, so I don't have any suggestions that are guaranteed to work. You could try renaming the file to .avi. Otherwise use a tool like Handbrake to convert into another format.

Yes, Movie Maker is hard to work with...

Changing the extension did not work. I already converted a video using VLC and this does work but it is impossible for me to do that for all the videos I have to process, they are like 900 and it took more than 5 minutes for just that one.

Thing is, I need to unify short videos grabbed by a cam into longer ones, it 's for family so I want a free and easy to use software. Would you have something in mind? Something that recognizes .m2ts files? Or some software that converts them all together? I am asking for a lot... haha

If the files are all of same format and resolution, then you could use MkvToolnix to join them into a single file.
