I can't install K-Lite Codec Pack in a PC

I am Carlos and I am from Curitiba, Brazil.

In a PC with Windows 7 SP1, K-Lite Mega Codec Pack was installed until last week. I don't know why it can't be installed or updated. After a lot of attempts to update, I uninstalled it. Since then that PC has no klcp. The setup just does nothing, its window does not open, I need to kill it with the Task Manager.

I tried to install old versions but the result is the same.

The setup log stops after "Initializing default settings", no matter which version of klcp. This one was a last try:

It seems to hang while detecting Windows speaker configuration settings. I have no idea why this happens.

Did you recently update sound drivers?
Does it also hang if you temporarily disable your virus scanner?

All motherboards are asus.

I use speak in front went back to the same problem. I went back to the same problem.

This pc came with the standard drive nothing updated.

Hello, I am facing this same problem, the installer does not respond and I have to close it in the task manager, I tried to install old versions but the result is the same.,already tried all the procedures that posted here in this topic and did not solve my problem, my drivers are all up to date, I have deactivated antivirus, ja I tried everything and it does not work, please some solution that really solves this problem of mine?

You all are from Brazil. Some other program must be interfering with the installation. Something that you all have installed. Perhaps banking software? There was someone else here recently where such software caused crashes in MPC-HC.

Download Process Explorer:

If you click on the K-Lite installer process, then it should show all files that it has loaded. Check if there are any DLL files loaded that don't belong to Microsoft.
If you right-click on the process, select Properties, then Threads, you can see where it hangs. Make a screenshot.

Never seen that dll get loaded into anything before, so i went off to search.

From what i've seen gbpinj.dll seems to be G-buster browser defense, and is considered PUP software/malware.

This is what is 99% likely interfering with the installation. This is backed by the fact that when you're searching for the .dll on Google, it shows a lot Brazilian results.

Get rid of it.

This plugin is mandatory for the bank, I hate it, I have installed plugin g-buster in install Windows 10 with the same plugin and k-lite work install and update. I have in pc G-defender see log Windows 10

Maybe you have a different version of that plugin on your other computer. Check if you can update it. That plugin is likely to also cause problems with other software. If possible report the problem to your bank or the maker of the plugin. They really need to fix this.

Can you tell me the location of the gbpinj.dll file on the computer, and its version (on both computers)? Then maybe a warning can be added to the installer in case an incompatible version is found.

I don't know who the developers are, but if your bank makes use of it, contact them, ask them for the support email of the developers of G-buster browser defense, unless you can find them on your own. Tell them there's a bug in G-buster browser defense causing certain software installation utilities to break and fail installing due to their plugin DLL injecting itself into said installers.

Olá, pessoal consegui resolver, removendo o Diebold Warsaw, Tive que desinstalar, pois não é posssivel matar o processo.
( Ja reisntalei ) utilizei o iobit uninstaler... agora esta funcioando perfeitamente...obrigado aos ADMS pela ajuda...
Acho muito estranho , não instalar pois sempre usei o gbuster e nunca tive esse tipo de problema, na duvida desativei temporariamente o antivirus....
Mas agora esta tudo funcionando perfeitamente...
Instalado e atualizado para a versão 13.4.9...

G-Buster is garbage, it degrades the PC's performance, but it is necessary to use the internet banking of some Brazilian banks such as Banco do Brasil, CEF, Santander Brasil. As if it were not enough, now there is a Linux version.

Without G-Buster, I did reinstall K-Lite. Unfortunately, I probably will have to install G-Buster again.
