Basic MPC 12.0.1 doesn't play audio AAC LATM properly in Win10

The renderer has more effect on the GPU load than on CPU load.

Can you try "Enhanced Video Renderer" (the non-custom version)?

If that gives a black screen, then open the settings of LAV Video decoder and uncheck P010 and P016.

I have tried "Enhanced Video Renderer (non-custom version" that the video playback was stuttering.

Disabling P010/P016 is only needed if you get a black screen like in the past. It is a workaround for a bug in the Intel graphics driver.

Whenever hw decode is enabled, screen will be black out during playing back even though  p010 and p016 are unchecked.  For smooth playback, I have unchecked the transform filters VP9 and HEVC and output set to EVR for better video quality.
