a search txt box at the top of the playlist

I would love to see a search txt box for the playlist (apologies if this has already been suggested). Currently when start typing when the playlist has focus the selection jumps to the first item that starts with what has been typed. I feel this is far to simplistic. The search txt box would need to do a contains search and support the wildchars '*' & '?' and then only display matching items. RegEx could also be supported if you really wanted to do it properly. I really love MPC-HC and it's a real shame that VLC does this but MPC-HC doesn't.
