MPC-HC playlist view does not automatically scroll to last played item after fresh install
When playing an item which is located further down the playlist of multiple items, when MPC-HC is shut down and restarted, the playlist view will autoscroll to the last played item in red. On fresh install, the playlist view will stay at the top, though last played item is still correctly highlighted in red when you scroll down to it.
Using Windows 10 and Mega pack. To replicate issue install 18.3.5 or newer (till latest 18.5.0), select Fresh install and next all the way. If 18.3.0 or older is installed then installing those versions while doing a Fast update or Update/Modify, issue does not occur. Could not find any differences in the MPC-HC options and issue happens for different Windows 10 computers.

Re: MPC-HC playlist view does not automatically scroll to last played item after fresh install
Did further testing and last known working version is K-Lite 18.3.0/MPC-HC.2.2.1.48.x64. Issue started on K-Lite 18.3.5/MPC-HC.2.2.1.58.x64 onwards if reset settings is selected on install. Seems like it only happens if you drag a playlist into MPC-HC.
Anyone encountering this issue just go to mpc-hc64.ini or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MPC-HC\MPC-HC\Settings depending on your setup and delete or clear the values for ExternalPlayListPath. Note that it will repopulate if you drag in another playlist.

Re: MPC-HC playlist view does not automatically scroll to last played item after fresh install
MPC-HC correctly scrolls to last played item here after restarting player.
Re: MPC-HC playlist view does not automatically scroll to last played item after fresh install
Tried it on Windows 11 and different PCs, same issue. Note that you have to open or drop a playlist into MPC-HC. Only .mpcpl and .m3u will cause this, .pls doesn't since it will not populate the ExternalPlayListPath registry key mentioned in my post above.
Let me detail the steps so you could replicate it.
1. Drop say 100 different files (video or audio, doesn't matter) and scroll down to item 100 and play it. Every file has to be unique since the player will select the first known occurrence on player restart if there are duplicates and you won't be able to replicate the issue.
2. Restart the player and the playlist will automatically scroll down to show item 100 and it will be highlighted red. (This is normal behaviour)
3. Save the playlist with the extension .mpcpl or .m3u (Not .pls as this wont replicate the issue).
4. Open the .mpcpl/.m3u with the player or drop it into the playlist. This will populate the ExternalPlayListPath registry key too.
5. Restart the player and the playlist won't scroll to item 100 anymore, the scrollbar will stay at the top, though item 100 is still highlighted red and will play if you hit the play button.
6. Close the player and clear the registry key. (Do not clear the key before you close the player, else the player will rewrite the playlist path back to the key on shutdown)
7. Start the player and it will scroll down to 100 again. (Add the key back and it will break)
