MPC-HC unable to play some videos

I have a collection of videos. Most are H.264 video + AAC audio. Most videos can be played on MPC-HC, but for some reason a few of them can't.
When the issue occurs, MPC-HC usually behaves as if the video were playing normally, but I get a black window instead of actual video image. The audio plays as usual. I noticed a few occasions where MPC-HC hangs or freezes when I open one of those "problematic" videos, but it seems like a random occurrence, it doesn't happen always.

All videos are playable on VLC, the issue seems to affect MPC-HC only.

Plays ok here with latest version of the codec pack. Try a fresh installation.
