MPC-HC screen tear
Hi!
Couple of months ago I switched my Nvidia 1060 GPU for AMD 7800XT. Now when I watch anything on pc there's screen tear in mpc-hc. I never had this with Nvidia gpu. Is there a way to fix this?

I'll try enabling it, but every video I watched for AMD settings has this option disabled.Admin wrote:Look for a Vertical Sync (VSync) option in the graphics driver settings.

Re: MPC-HC screen tear
Even with VSync enabled I still have screen tear. Is there a setting in MPC that needs to be enabled as well?

Options > Playback > Output
When using EVR-CP you can press V to toggle VSync on/off for that renderer.
The recommended default is MPC Video Renderer. In its settings you can find an "exclusive fullscreen" option. That can also help with tearing. Only big downside is that this disables the seekbar in fullscreen. But you can still with arrow keys or ctrl+scrollwheel.
Did you uninstall the NVIDIA drivers before switching GPU? You might want to use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove all traces of NVIDIA stuff (and AMD) and monitors. Then do a clean install of the AMD driver and also a clean install of the codec pack. This may help fix weird issues caused by leftovers. Monitors can get different configs depending on the GPU vendor.

I'm using madVR. Does this have to do something with it?
Yes. I completely uninstalled Nvidia drivers.

Test if it also happens with MPC VR.
Madvr has various rendering options that you can experiment with.
