K-Lite Codec Pack Mega & ProShow Producer

Hello,
I have ProShow Producer installed on my computer which I have been using for a long time to build slideshows. I also installed K-Lite Codec Pack Mega, but from version 17.5.5 it doesn't let me open ProShow anymore. I've tried all versions up to 17.7.7, but ProShow still won't open. The last ProShow compatible version is 17.5.2, which I went back to install.
There's something that changed between 17.5.2 and 17.5.5 that doesn't make ProShow work anymore... I would like to keep up to date with the K-Lite Codecs, but I don't want to give up on ProShow which I know by now and which works very well.

Codec Tweak Tool > Codec and Filter Management > DirectShow

Disable these two filters:
Bass Audio Source
MPC Image Source

If that solves the problem, then please check which one of the two is the cause. I suspect MPC Image Source assuming that ProShow handles images.

Do you have an installer for ProShow? I downloaded one, but it just crashes when loading the installer.

About your anomalous installation of ProShow, I have to tell you that when it didn't open anymore, I tried to uninstall it and then reinstall it, but the new installation crashed me too. So it's really the fault of the MPC Image Source filter that also blocks the installation.

It should fix the crash. But I am now sure if ProShow is capable of fallling back to using another filter. What ProShow is doing is really weird anyway. It tries to load JPG files through DirectShow. It is not clear what exactly it tries to load either, as they are memory mapped files.

✤ One of the members in my ProShow Producer 9 Support Group had an issue with the installation stopping at around 90% and one of the other members mentioned it could be a K-Lite Codec issue.
✤ I have Producer 9 installed on my Windows 8.1, 10, 11 machines and have never come across an issue such as the one above.
✤ I have remotely installed Producer 9 on many members computers pus my friends and family and I had never faced that issue and thanks a member suggesting the K-Lite situation the other member was able to complete their install. As Photodex closed down January 2020 and took all the servers offline permanently I do not feel I am denying them revenue.
✤ On my website I have 100% ProShow resources including the final stable version of Producer 9, the activation utility which you can use on unlimited installs on unlimited computers plus all the official registered versions of the Photodex styles and transitions packs. All the downloads are "direct" to my Google drive or my MediaFire account and no paying to download faster, etc. I do not do that.

Hi, unfortunately still problems with ProShow Producer.
Everything was ok with your instructions and the file replaced. Then the new version came out, 17.8.0 and then 17.8.2. I didn't want to update because everything worked, but then I thought that in the new versions there would be a change for my problem. So I tried doing the updates. This time ProShow starts, there is a white space instead of the command bar, and then it crashes. I tried reinstalling ProShow. The windows that guide the installation do not open fully, they are reduced. However, after several tests, everything works if I disable the MPCImageSource.ax (x86) file.
The version (x64) does not cause problems and so I leave it enabled.

The update pack does not include the updated file.
