0xc00d36c4 ERROR WHEN PLAYING VIDEO FILE (I don't know what to do T^T)
Hi everyone,
I transfered my video files overnight a few days ago, from my Samsung Note 22 directly to a new external hard drive that I never used before and when I checked the files the next morning the media player can't open the file. I usually used the Films and TV app to play my video files, but it says:
"This file isn't playable. That might be because the file is unsupported, the file extensions is incorrect, or the file is corrupt. 0xc00d36c4."
The videos were shot in 4k, 60mbps, 30fps. I've never had an issue like this before and I don't know what to do. What's weird is that there is one video file that works out of the many that are corrupted.
I'm using Windows 10.
I contacted some tech guys on Fiverr for help but they can't repair the files.
I downloaded the standard K-Lite Codec pack, changed the video file name from .mp4 to.video, and I used Media Player Classic Home Cinema to open the video file, but it still doesn't play and this warning text came up:

Any help would be appreciated greatly. These files are for my graduate dissertation
Thanks very much - Nic

Re: 0xc00d36c4 ERROR WHEN PLAYING VIDEO FILE (I don't know what to do T^T)
For Windows Media Player:
http://codecguide.com/media_foundation_codecs.htm
The rename to .video trick is only needed for the "old" Windows Media Player. It is not needed for Media Player Classic. It also has no effect on the modern version of Windows Media Player, which only uses Media Foundation codecs.
What information does MediaInfo show for this file? The file might actually be damaged.
