Pictures turning into videos

Hi, I just installed K-lite on my windows 11 pc to solve the problem of some video thumbnails not showing up on file explorer and this worked! However, I noticed that many pictures have turned into videos (MOV files). There are actually 2 copies, one is a picture and the other a video. Is there s way to fix this? Thank you!

MOV is a file extension for video files. So Explorer will display the thumbnail with a video reel.

If you mean extra files have appeared, then this is not done by the codec pack. The files must have already existed, but were perhaps hidden.

Thank you for responding, but k-lite is making files that were just pictures into video files. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

K-Lite does not modify any of your files in any way at all!

If you open image files with MPC-HC player then it may show them as a still image with a "duration" of 10 seconds. This is to allow playback of a playlist of images.
You can configure it here:
MPC-HC options > Advanced > StillVideoDuration
