Icaros generating a "generic" thumbnail
Hello again,
I don't know if you could help me here before i create an account at the Icaros forum.
This time i have a weird issue with thumbnail generation.
I am using Icaros 3.3.0, and I have a lot of high resolution images, like a lot, and when i open a folder the thumbnail cache seems to regenerate each time, and very often the thumbnail i get for the images are something like this:
I call it a generic thumbnail because there can be several images in a folder with the same thumbnail, it often fixes itself if i change from the big icon view in explorer, to very big and then swapping back, but sometimes not every image fixes itself.
The cache is set to ENABLED(DYNAMIC), and i also have regenerated the cache several times now, but it doesn't seem to fix it.
Any tips you could give me to prevent this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!.
Edit: windows 10 Pro 22H2
EDIT 2: JUST YESTERDAY i installed a Windows automatic update for .Net Framework 3.5, and 4.8 (KB5027538) and it is actually behaving better!, it seems more responsive even!. I restored the cache and i didn't see that weird icon again!
So i think it fixed itself now? I'll keep an eye on it.
Though i don't really know if your installer already does this (i didn't use it to install icaros the last time), but checking that the end user has the latest .Net would be a great idea.

Re: Icaros generating a "generic" thumbnail
Only the settings tool of Icaros uses .NET. The explorer plugin does not.
The icaros cache is a backup for the Windows cache. So in case of problem it can often help to clear the Windows cache with cleanmgr.exe
