MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
Hey.
So i downloaded the K-Lite MPC-HC With MadVR and set it up with the guide in the R/HTPC wiki.
However the HDR passthrough on MadVR doesn't work. I'm 99% sure this is a MadVR issue, since enabling HDR Passthrough on the MPV Video renderer made it work fine. Does anyone know what i should do to get it working?

Are you using Windows 11? Then try this beta version of madVR:
http://madshi.net/madVRhdrMeasure165.zip
Just overwrite the installed files.

That got it working, thank you so much! My only issue now is the colors definitely don't look right, it's very washed out even though i'm positive all my settings are right and calibrated

Re: MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
Latest few NVIDIA drivers are a bit buggy with madVR. For some people HDR suddenly stops working after some time. After reboot it should work again for a while. More details:

You can also try resetting the madVR settings (with Codec Tweak Tool) and apply them fresh.
You can press Ctrl+J to show the madVR information overlay.

Hey, abit off-topic, but do you know if MPC/MadVR supports Dolby Vision files? thanks

Re: MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
Dolby Vision is not supported. Those will have wrong colors (green/purple). You should download regular HDR10 video instead.
Re: MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
Ah bummer, Do you know why MPC wants me to update MadVR even though i have the latest beta that you linked installed?

Re: MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
MadVR itself is showing that message. The beta versions have an expiration date. There will be a new version in the coming days.
A link will be placed here when it becomes available:

Re: MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
I've run into the same problem. Is this the newest version of madVR?
https://www.videohelp.com/download/madVRhdrMeasure166.zip
So are the "hdrMeasure" versions of madVR a fork of the original? Or did the dev simply feel like changing zip name?
Installing it seems to have fixed it. Although HDR videos downloaded from Youtube don't seem to work. Should they work?

Re: MadVR Doesn't passthrough HDR
166 is latest.
These are test/development builds from the original developer. Only major changes are in the HDR tonemapping section of the options.
At this moment it is unclear if there will ever be any new stable release versions. More details in the link I posted above.
