Dolby Atmos/DTS-X Problems in H264 Videos
Since the last update there is no more decoding of Dolby Atmos nor DTS-X in H264 Files (Full HD) H265 (4K) works as bevore...did you change anything ?
Is there something during the installation that I have to change ? It worked perfect bevore - now I can get no mor 3D Sound from older files.
Regards

That should still work just as before.
The video format or resolution should not have any effect on the audio. Are they perhaps different file formats?
Which player are you using?
Are you bitstreaming to a receiver?
Exactly what goes wrong? No sound, bad sound, or PCM instead of bitstreaming?

Thanks for the quick reply - I use the MPC and bitstreaming to a AV Preamp. There is now only PCM Stereo shown on the Display of the Preamp even when I choose the Atmos Track. It worked perfect until last week.

I forgot - the files are different, but all only Full HD maximum resolution. If I play a 4K Atmos Sample everything works a bevore and I get the Atmos decoding from the Preamp

Do the file have multiple audio streams? Check if the correct one is selected by default.
Copy the MediaInfo details here for one of the failing files.

The files have different streams but the Dolby Atmos Track is always selected by default. I can send you a sample via wetransfer if you like so you can test it yourself

Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 24fps [V: h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x1080]
Audio: TrueHD 48000Hz 8ch 9216kbps [A: truehd, 48000 Hz, 7.1, s24]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 640kbps [A: ac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), 640 kb/s [sub]]
Audio: DD+ 48000Hz 8ch 1664kbps [A: eac3, 48000 Hz, 7.1, 1664 kb/s]
The TrueHD Audio stream is delivered as PCM Stereo
Only the DD+ eac3 stream is decoded as Atmos but this is only the datareduced Version

Re: Dolby Atmos/DTS-X Problems in H264 Videos
I just made a test without MAD VR as Videorenderer - use MPC Videorenderer now it works perfect as bevore / only with Atmos, DTS-X is still unavailable...any idea ?

Re: Dolby Atmos/DTS-X Problems in H264 Videos
Generally speaking, when bitstreaming fails, it is either wrong audio device being set as default, or the HDMI audio driver doesn't accept the audio format. Usually the second cause and due to a bug in the driver.
Given that it happens only with madVR, were you using the refreshrate changing option of madVR? That is really the only thing I can think of that might have an effect on the HDMI output and thus also possibly the bitstreaming.
HDR switching could also do something similar, but MPCVR does that as well.
All I can suggest is to try a different version of the graphics driver.

Hi and thanks again for your help.
I will test it without using the refreshrate option...

Re: Dolby Atmos/DTS-X Problems in H264 Videos
In case it is related to the display mode switch, then you could try reloading the video (Ctrl+E) after the mode switch.
Re: Dolby Atmos/DTS-X Problems in H264 Videos
Yessssss....problem solved ! Thanks for the advice - MADVR caused the problem with the automatic switch to the actual refreshrate of the movie. Sadly the reload of the movie changed nothing so I now let MPC do the switching and it works perfect as before, all audio is played back as it should. You saved my day - thanks again. Best regards.
