Green flickering border in a video
Hello there!
I am once again asking for your tech support.
I am having this weird looking green border at the bottom of the player on some files, is this a player issue or is the file borked?:
I can't share the video itself unfortunately.
Any guidance is appreciated!

Re: Green flickering border in a video
Disable hardware accelerated decoding in the video decoder options. Test if that solves the problem.
It could be a bug in the decoder, or a bug in the graphics driver.
I can't do anything about it without having a file to reproduce the problem.

Disabling the DXVA2 acceleration both copy-back or native resolved the issue.Admin wrote:Disable hardware accelerated decoding in the video decoder options. Test if that solves the problem.

I could use however D3D11 acceleration with no issues.
I am using a Radeon 5700 XT.
Does this mean that my video card is faulty?
Thanks again for you kind help!
EDIT: I am using the madVR renderer, with the LAV video decoder.
EDIT2: windows 10 Pro 21H2,

Re: Green flickering border in a video
It is most likely a bug in the AMD driver. But you can test if same problem also occurs with MPC Video Renderer.
Using D3D11 acceleration is fine, so keep using that.

That rendered also had the same issue with both DXVA2 accelerations.Admin wrote:It is most likely a bug in the AMD driver. But you can test if same problem also occurs with MPC Video Renderer.
BUT it didn't have that issue with the Video Mixing Renderer 9 (renderless) if i selected DXVA2 NATIVE, but copy-back was borked too.
EDIT: I updated to the latest AMD driver, it behaved the same.
EDIT2: I have to make it clear that is this video and a very few others, that are also encoded that way, that i am having that weird green border. It works fine for all of the other stuff i have.

Re: Green flickering border in a video
VMR9 does not support DXVA2 native. So it uses software decoding instead.
