2160p hdr Content - default soooo dark on 2560*1440 Screen/Monitor
Cheers from Germany
i use (Media Player Classic - with the K-Lite Codec Pack) = the newest Version 17.0.0
i love Series and Films. "but" everytime i start Files with 2160p hdr Content = i watch the Files on my Screen/PC Monitor who has the Setting 2560*1440 144Hz
the Result is, that the Picture is soooo dark. i set in the Media Player Classic , that i can change with the keys x or y the brightness. so i had to change that for every file from 0 (default to example 30 or more.)
are you about Settings, that the Media Player Classic can accept 2160p hdr Content = and show them in the right Colour-Managment?
because then, the Issue is gone with the too dark Screen, you know.
or is the Issue, because in use 2160p hdr Content with madvr Filter Settings?
i have a high End PC, and i thought, with madvr i have the Best Result, to watch Videos.
Thanks for helping!

Re: 2160p hdr Content - default soooo dark on 2560*1440 Screen/Monitor
madvr settings > devices > hdr > tone map HDR using pixel shaders > target peak nits = 100
That should give more brightness. If your screen is very dim, you could lower it a tiny bit more.

Hi, Thank You !!! i will try that, if that is the best default Setting (target peak nits = 100 against target peak nits = 200)
= for all who use 2160p hdr Content with PC Monitor who has the Setting 2560*1440 144Hz
= when i think it is great and i have just type x or y for "little" bit change the brightness, against change big Value with x or y
= then i can smile and tell you. so i give you an Update today...

The ideal value depends on the brightness of your screen. For old monitors 100 is usually a good value, newer ones often have higher brightness. You might be able to find a nits value somewhere in the documentation of your device.
You can just play around a bit and test what value gives the best result.
