Video has jerks in 17.0.0 MEGA
After I updated to K-Lite 17.0.0 MEGA, my video files have minor jerks in playback. I reverted back to 16.9.9 MEGA.
Please don't ask for screenshots or video files as it happens on all videos. Perhaps the new version require more CPU. Hope you can look into it.

Something is wrong at your end.
Does MPC-HC status bar still show "[H/W]" to indicate that hardware acceleration is active?
Did you perhaps enable ffdshow video processor? That reduces performance.

I tried 17.0.0 again. It does show [H/W] for 4K and 10-bit videos as per my settings. But how do I enable/disable ffdshow video processor as I didn't do anything except did a 'Fast Update' from 16.9.9.

You can see if ffdshow is being used here:
Player menu > Play > Filters
Please copy this log here, so I can see what hardware you have:
Codec Tweak Tool > Generate Log

Re: Video has jerks in 17.0.0 MEGA
From the Filters list, ffdshow is not used. This is my list:
Filters currently loaded:
- SaneAR Audio Renderer
- Enhanced Video Renderer (custom presenter)
- Audio Switcher
- LAV Video Decoder (internal)
- LAV Audio Decoder (internal)
- LAV Splitter Source (internal)
When I first installed 17.0.0 MEGA, my videos had jerks in them. After uninstalling and later reinstalling, the jerks were gone. I think because I had to totally uninstall 17.0.0 to get back 16.9.9, then reinstall 16.9.9 from scratch instead of Fast Update, it may caused some filters and settings to change. So when I reinstalled 17.0.0 using Fast Update, the jerks were gone.
Since my problem is solved, thank you very much for your help, Adm.
BTW, in future, if ffdshow is used, how do I change it to another filter?

Re: Video has jerks in 17.0.0 MEGA
ffdshow does not get used unless you explicitly enable it yourself, so not worry about that.
Maybe a different video renderer was used in your previous installation.
MPC options > Playback > Output > Video Renderer
On modern hardware the pack defaults to MPC Video Renderer.

Re: Video has jerks in 17.0.0 MEGA
For years, it used 'Enhanced Video Renderer (custom presenter)'. Today I tried 'MPC Video Renderer' and there is no difference in playback. Is one better than the other?

Re: Video has jerks in 17.0.0 MEGA
MPCVR for example has better support for HDR video. With EVR-CP you will get wrong colors for such video.
Re: Video has jerks in 17.0.0 MEGA
TQ for the info and your help with this. I will also change to MPCVR.
