MPC-HC watching DVD audio & video go out of sync?

I'm using K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 16.9.0 that includes MPC-HC 1.9.20 on a Windows 10 64bit system running version 21H1 the system has a i7-6850K, 32gb ram and an nVidia 1080 gpu, I'm watching a set of DVDs using MPC-HC and if I pause playback and start or scroll the video the audio & video go out of sync; as long as it plays uninterrupted there's no problem. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be and how to solve it?

All I can suggest to try is a different audio renderer.

Options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer > Default DirectSound
