Boss key issue

The boss key (B) in codecguide.com MPC versions exits the app instead of  pausing and minimizing it (Like it used to do in the other versions I had)
how can I fix that?

It still minimizes normally here. I need more details about the conditions in which it happens to reproduce.

apparently it exits the app whenever I minimize it so boss key has nothing to do with it, but is it a problem with the app or is it a windows thing? I have never had this issue with any other app before

I unchecked "tray icon" and it went back to normal

When tray ion is enabled, it minimizes into the system tray. That is the icons in the right-bottom corner of the screen.
