how to play a .265 stream

Hello Everybody,

a small problem...I have an old Tptek cam which is saving .265 streams on my NAS. Unfortunately I cannot play these stream using Media Player, VLC or Potplayer with WIN10 Pro. I also tried to install a MS codex (Microsoft.HEVCVideoExtension_1.0.31823.0_x64_8wekyb3d8bbwe.Appx). Everything failed.

Can I hope for a help here?

Try Media Player Classic. That should be able to play it if is a standard raw h265 stream.

Thanks for your answer. I have the original Windows Media Player on my PC (Huawei Mate and Win10 Pro). Unfortunately WMP is not able to play the .265 stream.
I believe it is not a standard h265 stream, the extension is 265 and not h265!

Perhaps I can send you an example of such a stream? And if yes, how can I proceed?

Media Player Classic is a totally different player than Windows Media Player. It is included in the K-Lite Codec Pack, for which this is the support forum.

thanks a lot for your help and sorry for my confusion. I was only thinking in regard of VLC and Windows MP. So I went on a search for MPC, first I tried to install  a 64 bit version (from CHIP Germany) but I became a virus warning so I installed a 32 bit version. This version now is perfectly working .
