He is just an exalted guy that is unable to configure a player and just call anything trash.
It is obvious that you get washed out colors on HDR videos if you use EVR renderer.

That is just a retard who uses wrong configuration.

When using D3D11 hardware decoding, you should use MPC Video Renderer with Direct3D11 option enabled, or madvr. Those are the only situations where D3D11 can run in efficient NATIVE mode. Otherwise it will run in COPYBACK mode, which obviously is much slower when playing 8K video. Crappy Intel hardware doesn't have the bandwidth to copy such huge amount of data back and forth.

But the real joke is that he tries to play 8K video on a tiny 1366x768 laptop screen.

it is true he is using the wrong renderer... i vote for madvr
