Re: MPC-HC crashes while trying to open WMV files
Download this version of MPC-HC:
https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases/download/1.9.19/MPC-HC.1.9.19.x86.zip
This includes a crash reporter that generates more details. It should open a web page (DrDump) when the player classic. Copy the link of that page here, so I can see the details of the crash.

Re: MPC-HC crashes while trying to open WMV files
I am unable to reproduce any problem with your sample files. Neither with the Microsoft codecs, nor with internal codecs.
Try this:
Options > Internal Filters > Source Filters > Enable WMV/ASF
Options > Internal Filters > Transform Filters > Enable WMA 1/2 and WMV 1/2/3
Try this:
Options > Internal Filters > Source Filters > Enable WMV/ASF
Options > Internal Filters > Transform Filters > Enable WMA 1/2 and WMV 1/2/3
