I have set under "View" "Options" that the playback position is noted.

Nevertheless, the film always starts at the beginning. Can anyone help me further?

The problem ist only at mp3-files. Mp4-files or ts-files are played from the last position.

By default it only remembers for video files longer than 10 minutes.

You can enable it for audio files here:
Options > Advanced

I can't find Options - Advanced. I use the version 1.5.6.

That option is available only when using MPC-HC.

You are using MPC-BE which is a different player and not part of the codec pack.
