Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience post the upgrade experience going from Windows 10 to Windows 11 with the latest K-Lite downloads for MPC-HC and the associated audio codecs and HDR?

I know that Windows 11 introduces the Auto-HDR feature which I imagine will automatically detect whether content is HDR or not and prevent me from needing to flick the annoying switch in the Settings panel each time I wish to watch HDR content (so that the colour doesn't look washed out if I'm still on SDR BT.709 mode).

Has anyone installed Windows 11 and given MPC-HC and HDR content it a try and had any success?

I still need to solve a "Safe Boot" issue before I can upgrade but this will be another consideration before I upgrade to ensure my MPC-HC experience is as good, or better.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers
Mike.

It should work ok based on some user reports. I don't know if anyone tested on Intel GPU yet. Best to get latest driver directly from Intel site instead of default driver in Windows).

Empty the devices list in madvr settings so that it re-detects your screens. Or start with a clean install.

Alt-tab may also be a bit buggy:

Appreciate the quick reply. I note your links and seems as if some are having some early issues with alt-tab, etc. so I might hang fire for a few weeks (and solve my MBR vs. UEFI problem first for Safe Boot) and then look to upgrade then. If I discover anything further once I upgrade I'll be sure to post here and inform other readers. Best wishes!

This is an important question for windows users and app developers. Some of us don't have access to a Win11 machine (yet) and are not sure if any KLite features will be broken by Win11.

Klite developers experience with Win11 is most important to me.
- What has been tested and confirmed to work.
- Listing of known issues, workarounds, and plans if any to address them

Admins, I wonder if it is worth pinning this thread or open your own thread on this topic.

Everything works expect some minor issue with madVR, which are probably due to driver bugs.

Windows 11 still has kernel version 10.0 and there are no huge changes aside from the changes to the GUI.

Thanks Admin. The codecguide.com download page hasn't been updated yet to show win11 is supported so I wasn't sure. So this is good to know. Have a great day.
