Help Install K-Lite Codec Pack with the right settings ?

So the backround...... I finally downloaded 5000 photos from my Iphone to my PC....Windows 7( I know....please dont beat on me for that)
I cant view mostof the photos and videos. It says CODEC. So I tried downloading codec per video on forum and I get the windows "X" Windows cannnot access the specific device,File,Path. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item! I just want to ve able to view my pics and videos.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

There seems to be a problem with the access permissions of your files.

Start > programs > accessories > command prompt (right-click on it and Run As Administator)
Then run the command:
takeown /F "c:\folder\that\contains\your files" /A /R /D Y
