How to hide hardcoded subs

I've been using Media Player Classic for years now, but this is my first post on the forum.

Does anyone know how to turn off or temporarily disable hardcoded subtitles on a video file (in this case, an mp4 file)? I've seen various solutions put forward on internet, but none of them work for me. I'm using Windows 10. When I play the file in question, I don't see the LAV green light in the lower right corner.

I'd be very grateful for any assistance.

If they are hardcoded, then they are now part of the video. It is impossible to hide or disable them.

If they are not hardcoded, then you can disable in the menu:
Menu > Play > Subtitles
