Stutter on 1080, smooth on 4k?
Windows 10 Enterprise, brand new install, AMD A10 CPU, 16gb Ram, Nvidia 1030, latest klite.
So I was trying to focus on 4K hdr and I got it to work great in MPC using madvr. Then after everything was done I started to watch a few 1080p mkv files and noticed a very subtle stutter every 10-60 seconds. Audio never cuts out but the video does glitch for a second. I do not notice this on anything in 4k.
I have tried both 1080 and 4k desktop resolution, still there. I have tried many dkfferr files, still there. I have the latest Nvidia drivers, still there. Klite is set to use LAV decoders and DXVA-Native is selected under hardware decoding and I am using Madvr.
I am not sure what options I should start to change to help the 1080 files? Any ideas? Thank you in advance

Press Ctrl+J and look at the madVR statistics.
Dropped frames or high rendering times means you need to adjust the scaling settings.
Set "frames presented in advance" to 1 in madVR settings. Enable Vertical Sync in NVIDIA settings.

Thank you very much for th reply. That unfortunately didn't work, in either 1080p 60hz or 4K 60hz.
But I found something interesting by accident, if I set the resolution to 1080p 120hz the stutter goes away, confirmed with CTRL+J (though it still says presentation glitches 3?)
I cannot leave it in 120hz though because I loose my on screen display from my receiver.
Anything else I can try?
Also, I want to make sure I got this right: under the Nvidia control panel, 3D settings, Manage 3D settings, global settings, vertical sync - this is where I change it right? It was set to "Use The 3D Application Setting" and I switched it to "On"

Select 59Hz refreshrate if that choice is available.
Otherwise, create a custom refreshrate:
