MKV Video with rustle
Hallo everyone
At Windows Media Player I have a Problem with older MKV-videos the have a "DTS 2.0" Audiotrack.
The video have played but the sound a rustle.
I notices the problem with K-Lite version 15.9.0.
I updatet the version to 15.9.5 but the problem still aktiv.
I do not know what version I have before 15.9.0 who have not this problem.
The only thing I found by other older MKV-videos is the Audiotrack "DTS 2.0" than with "AAC 2.0" I have no problems.
The left video have the problem.
The right video have no problem.
VLC-player have not this problem.
I hope you can help me.
p.s.: sorry for my bad english.

Re: MKV Video with rustle
Use Media Player Classic from the codec pack. That works much better than Windows Media Player.
Windows Media Player uses codecs from Windows by default, and those have many issues. You can force it to use the codecs from K-Lite by either renaming your file to .video or by disabling Media Foundation codecs with the Codec Tweak Tool.
But I really advice to stop using WMP.

Thanks for help
" You can force it to use the codecs from K-Lite by either renaming your file to .video"
It do not worked.
"by disabling Media Foundation codecs with the Codec Tweak Tool"
I have all disable but it not worked.

Do I understend you right that the code for "DTS 2.0" is not from K-Lite, it comes from Windows?
Ok, I used the other player for this videos.

Re: MKV Video with rustle
Yes, WMP can use decoder from Windows for DTS audio.
Codec Tweak Tool > MS Codec Tweaks > Disable Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
If you don't use WMP, then you can undo all those tweaks.
