.srt with wmv? Empty .srt with wmv?

Successfully managed to play .srt with mp4, mkv file in WMP 12 by following the instruction depicted on F.A.Q. page.
However WMP fail to play .srt with wmv.
My question is - is there any solution? (I mean playing with WMP12, apart from VLC or MPC-HC)

You need to use a different player.

WMP12 is just terrible. I do not understand why some people like it so much.

unfortunately WMP is currently the smoothest software to play wmv, not VLC nor MPC (there is stuttering)

Do you have a link to an example file that stutters? MPC-HC should normally be able to play them smoothly.
