No audio playing in videos at all
Afternoon, all!
Recently abandoned a certain other popular codec pack and came back to K-Lite, as I couldn't get DTS audio to play at all, in any file, through my new Onkyo receiver. (Everything else worked, however.)
Now, despite uninstalling and reinstalling K-Lite, and trying bitstreaming and otherwise - I'm getting no audio whatsoever when I try to play files with AC3, DTS etc.
At my wit's end - any one have any hints? Driving me crazy.

Codec Tweak Tool > Audio Output > Windows Sound Settings
Check that the correct audio device is set as default in Windows. The default sometimes gets changed after a driver install/update. Alternatively you can select the correct desired output device in MPC-HC settings.
In the properties of the audio device, there is a tab where you can see the supported formats for bitstreaming. Verify that those settings are correct and enabled.

Thanks for that, definitely have the right output (HDMI via nVidia card to my receiver) - and an update; got MPC-HD playing files with audio, but when I try the same through "Films and TV" or Windows Media Centre (under Windows 10) - nothing doing, and can't see the LAV icons, as I can under MPC-HD. Just seems so odd; it's like Windows 'own' players can't see/use the codecs, but MPC-HD can. I can't see why that would be for the life of me, though!

Re: No audio playing in videos at all
The "Films and TV" player is not capable of using the codecs from K-Lite. It is limited to the Media Foundation codecs from Windows itself.
Windows Media Centre also uses the Windows codecs by default, but it is capable of using DirectShow after some tweaks. Use our Codec Tweak Tool, and play with the settings at the bottom: Media Foundation and MS Codec Tweaks
Disabling the "Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder" might solve your problem.

Re: No audio playing in videos at all
As an alternative for Windows Media Centre you could try Kodi as a media interface. That even has the ability to launch an external player (MPC-HC) for playback.
Re: No audio playing in videos at all
Tried Kodi a few years back, must try it again!
Thanks for the above - I disabled the DTV-DVD audio and everything sprang to life - fantastic! Really appreciate it - thanks again.
