There have been no updates for quite some time. Judging by their website, they engaged in some kind of commercial activity.

No, its development is just paused. Madshi has been busy working on a hardware device called Envy, which uses madVR technology.

He promised a fresh madVR build a while ago, but it keeps getting delayed due to work on the Envy coming first. Since the Envy is close to release now, we can hopefully expect new madVR version later this year.
