New MP4 videos have errors
As of Saturday, new MP4s from YouTube do not play in MPC-HC. They give the error:

Closing the error plays the audio but not the video.
According to the MPC FAQ the problem is Indeo 5. Using the Codec Tweak Tool I activated the codec and removed bad VFW and DS entries.
I still get the same error. Previous MP4s don't seem to be affected.
Any ideas what I can try to get MPC playing again?
Also, using VLC I get VLC could not decode the format "av01" (AOMedia's AV1 Video) and no video.
Windows Media Player - no vid, just sound
Thanks,

Re: New MP4 videos have errors
AV01 = AOMedia's AV1 Video
Indeo has a different identifier.
You are using an old version of MPC-HC. Update to latest version and these videos will play.
https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases/tag/1.9.7
That latest version is also included with K-Lite Codec Pack.

Re: New MP4 videos have errors
That easy, eh? I was under the impression 1.7.13 was the last version and MPC was going into update limbo. Glad to see that's not the case. Just taken over by VideoLan.
Thanks, admin.
By the way, where I found about Indio 5 was from http://www.codecguide.com/faq_mpc.htm:

Clearly no longer accurate.majortype: MEDIATYPE_Video {73646976-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
subtype: Unknown GUID Name {30355649-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
formattype: FORMAT_VideoInfo {05589F80-C356-11CE-BF01-00AA0055595A}
The format above is Indeo 5. You can enable that codec with the Codec Tweak Tool (manage VFW codecs). Or enable Indeo in LAV Video decoder.

Re: New MP4 videos have errors
If you look at the subtype, you will see it is different.
{31307661-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71} versus {30355649-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
31307661 is hexadecimal for 10va => AV01
30355649 is 05VI => IV50 (Indeo Video 5.0)
{31307661-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71} versus {30355649-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}

Re: New MP4 videos have errors
I thought I verified the value. Obviously I messed up. Sorry. But thanks, the new version works great.
