MKVs stutters | sfx volume
Dear Community,
Win 10 (I5, 2500, 3.3 Ghz) -> Geforce GT1030 -> HDMI 2.0 -> 4k TV
in each mkv file i have stutters. regardless of whether 720, 1080 oder 2160. some of the files works better with vlc, some file runs better with mph.
i optimized: NVIDIA control panel > Manage 3D settings > Global Settings > Power Management Mode > Select Adaptive
in which section i can reduce the volume of sfx (explosions, shootings etc.)? i can't find ffdshow filters in the actual k-lite pack.
anyone any ideas for me please?
thank you!

Re: MKVs stutters | sfx volume
Try these things (one by one):
1) MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer > DirectSound
2) MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Video > MPC Video Renderer
3) MPC-HC options > Internal Filters > Video Decoder > Hardware decoder = CUVID
1) MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer > DirectSound
2) MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Video > MPC Video Renderer
3) MPC-HC options > Internal Filters > Video Decoder > Hardware decoder = CUVID
Re: MKVs stutters | sfx volume
thank you for your input. i could find the option for video renderer, in the hardware decoder section i've selected nvidia cuvid. no other cuvid is listed. here are the sound setting:
Pic1
Pic2
if i play a mkv file direct with the panasonic media player within the oled tv - there are no stutter problems.
any idea?

Re: MKVs stutters | sfx volume
Select number 8 on the Ausgabe page.
If that doesn't help, then try number 14.
What is the CPU usage during playback? Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.

Re: MKVs stutters | sfx volume
Also try this setting:
MPC-HC options > Subtitles > Maximum Texture Resolution > 1920x1080
This will improve performance of subtitle rendering.

Re: MKVs stutters | sfx volume
no improvment with the new selection of #8 or #14.
cpu: about 12 - 30 %
gpu: the same
most of the mkv files have no subtitles, but i'll try.

Re: MKVs stutters | sfx volume
Another try:
MPC-HC options > Internal Filters > Video Decoder > Hardware decoder = D3D11
MPC-HC menu > Play > Filters > MPC Video Decoder > enable "Use Direct3D 11"
MPC-HC options > Internal Filters > Video Decoder > Hardware decoder = D3D11
MPC-HC menu > Play > Filters > MPC Video Decoder > enable "Use Direct3D 11"
