HDR not being recognized by TV
An HDR video file is not being recognized by my TV as HDR video. I have the settings for madvr configured correctly. I previously got it working using CCCP and madvr. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Re: HDR not being recognized by TV
The latest NVIDIA driver (452) has a bug which causes madVR to be unable to activate HDR. Revert to an older version (446). It is expected to get fixed again in next driver release.
Re: HDR not being recognized by TV
I am on 446.14, so that cannot be the problem.

Press Ctrl+J to show the madVR statistics overlay. That should indicate if it recognizes the video as HDR. If it does, then it is a driver issue.
If it doesn't recognize it as HDR, then verify that LAV Video decoder is connected directly to madVR.
MPC-HC menu > Play > Filters
For example using ffdshow video processor or VSFilter can break HDR.

Re: HDR not being recognized by TV
I've figured out what the issue was. If i set the subtitle renderer to internal subtitle renderer, it works. Setting it to VSFilter / DirectVobSub stops it from working correctly for whatever reason.

Re: HDR not being recognized by TV
madVR needs to be connected directly to the video decoder. Otherwise it does not receiver the HDR metadata from the decoder. So using VSFilter breaks HDR because that filter is placed in between the decoder and madVR.
The internal subtitle renderer is used by default. That is better than VSFilter. It has no issues with HDR or DXVA2 and also gives better quality.
