15.6.3 Mega pack
MPC-HC (Nightly, 64-bit)
Build information:
   Version:            1.9.6.31 (c31511b3c)
   Compiler:           MSVC v19.26.28806
   Build date:         Jul 23 2020
LAV Filters:
   LAV Splitter:       0.74.1.64
   LAV Video:          0.74.1.64
   LAV Audio:          0.74.1.64
   FFmpeg compiler:    MinGW-w64 GCC 9.3.0
Operating system:
Name:               Windows NT 6.1 (build 7601, Service Pack 1)
   Version:            6.1 (64-bit)

Issue :
Playing a single mp3 and then using media keys to skip song/file will play .swf files as well if in the same directory with the mp3
This behaviour was not occuring on earlier versions from what i remember
My file associations for MPC-HC have swf not checked therefore it should ignore the swf file/s
Also tested with the x32 mpc-hc that has no file assoc's and does the same
Happens with "Add to ... playlist" context menu but that's not as weird

The behavior does not depend on file associations. It opens any supported file as defined here:
Options > Player > Formats

Remove swf there if you don't want the player to open it. Or organize the folder contents.

regardless the terminology used ...
MPC-HC skip Issue (ignoring File Association) Untitl10

Codec tool > reset everything , and even unchecking all formats still will play the extensions not selected in formats when using skip without a predefined playlist when the folder content has mixed formats

Remove swf there if you don't want the player to open it. Or organize the folder contents.
was not a "fix" for older versions

I meant to actually remove .swf there. So the "Shockwave flash" becomes empty.

language barrier did a number on me ngl  lol!
deleting .swf and setting the empty string for the extension worked ; Thank you for the workaround  cheers
swf is ignored on skip and the context menu won't add swf files to playlist when using "add to playlist" on a directory as it should work
Though the issue of mpc-hc ignoring the chekbox status should be addresed in the future

The checkboxes are used only for file associations.

This entire list has a second purpose, and that is to define the known/supported extensions.
