Frame forward and back
Hi there,
I hope someone can help me solve this problem. I'm trying to find out who's the culprit and now I want to check if there's something in K-Lite that is the problem.
On my numpad, 4 and 6 are not working properly. When forwarding or backwarding frame by frame it skips a frame every 7/8 frames.
Also, when you try to lock a cue in a shot change, it skips frames, making it impossible to determine the right spot. When a client asks you to set the incue 2 frames after the shot change, it's impossible to get it right.
When forwarding/backwarding fast, the Spot clock freezes. Upon release, it jumps to the right time.
I'm using K-Lite 15.5.0 / Spot 6
I use converted subtitle-friendly AVI's
I have read all the entries on the forum here, but nothing corresponds to the issue.
I use a laptop with a seperate keyboard. I have tested with other keyboards, and on the numpad of the laptop itself: no change.
I have consulted the Spot group, but no solution there. Mark is quite certain it is not a Spot problem.
I hope you can help.
Thanks, Lisa

Re: Frame forward and back
I don't know Spot. See if you can also reproduce the problem with Media Player Classic from K-Lite.
You can right-click on the time in the status bar in MPC. Select "high precision". Then you can see the exact time of each frame.

Re: Frame forward and back
Hi,
I tried out the Media Player as you said. Right clicking the mouse is indeed moving frame by frame without hickups when high def is ticked. Besides, there is no option to frame backwards. Also, the numpad, which we normally use( numlocked) only stretches the image. Back to the software, I am unable to find a option 'high precision'.

Re: Frame forward and back
Frame step backwards is Ctrl+Left
All keyboard shortcuts in MPC can be changed:
Options > Player > Keys
The high precision option is when you right-click on the time in the bottom right corner.

Re: Frame forward and back
@Admin: In the past frame stepping was simply left or right, is it possibile to have an option to restore the old behaviour directly in the installer please?
(Since I reinstall often and on multile pc it would be annoying to change MPC-HC options manually)

Re: Frame forward and back
Thank you for your suggestion, but I'm afraid it doesn't solve my problem. I'll take it somewhere else.
