Windows Cannot Find
Problem: When clicking on any movie saved on my external hard drive and opening it with MPC-HC I receive a popup window indicating that Windows cannot find (drive symbol and name of the selected movie file) (i.e. 'D:\Bombshell MSD\Bombshell-2019-HQ DVD-rip.mkv.') Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
On Jan.3,19 I downloaded K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1460_Standard and have continued with the recommended updates since then. The problem 1st occurred Tue.Jun.9,20. I am using Windows 8 with K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1550_Standard reinstalled today Wed.Jun.10,20. Solutions tried include: Downloading this zip file: https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases/download/1.9.4.18/MPC-HC.1.9.4.18.x64.zip Use that to replace your current MPC-HC files. Also include the CrashReporter folder. I also uninstalled then reinstalled the K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1550_Standard.

I have the same problem
I have the same problem. Windows cannot find the file. None of the videos can be played. But using other players there is no problem with the video files (Bs.Player or VLC). I have Windows 10 Home ver 1909 (build 18363.900). I updated the version K-Lite Codec Pack 15.5.0 Mega and its Update 15.5.1
I leave two screenshots of the error:

https://www.magica877.com/display2.jpg
I used the Revo Uninstaller to completely uninstall the software. I reinstalled K-Lite but the issue is not resolved.
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Re: Windows Cannot Find
Does it only happen with files on the external drive? Because then it might be a problem with file access permissions.
Are you able to open the files if you start MPC-HC from its shortcut in the Start menu, and then open it through the File menu in MPC-HC? Does drag&drop work?

Re: Windows Cannot Find
Which version of Windows are you using?
Which virus scanner or other security software are installed?

Re: Windows Cannot Find
To fix file access permissions:
1) Start an Administrative command prompt
2) Type this command:
takeown /f d:\* /a /r /d Y
(this example is for D: drive)

Re: Windows Cannot Find
K-Lite MPC-HC is working again.
Running the AVG PC TuneUp, Maintenance, Speed Up, Free Up Space, Fix Problems, and All Functions software program resolved the issue.
Thanks to all who provided some advice.
