Can't cast 4K content to device
Hey there,
This week I've bought a 4K tv (Samsung UE55RU8000SXXN) and I've been dying to watch some proper 4K content I had some 1080p content on my computer, which I could right click > 'Caste to device' and it'd show without any problems.
As soon as I got some 4k movie (H.265) I got an unexpected error. I've tried casting several other 4K files, but none of them worked. My PC is connected to my TV with a premium high speed HDMI 2.0 cable (60Hz). I searched the internet (and this forum) for a solution, but couldn't find any. I've already tried the following things:
-turn network discovery on (Windows media player)
-change settings on my tv
-update all drivers + tv
-reset stream permission for Windows Media Player
-updated Windows
-Reset tv
-Reset modem
-Installed codec pack
-probably some other stuff which shower up on the first 3 pages on Google while searching for solutions
Is there anyone who can help me with this problem? See below for my codec log:

Re: Can't cast 4K content to device
The cast function of WMP is terrible and has many limitations. It uses the network, so HDMI cable isn't used.
Option #1: Connect the TV using HDMI. In the PC display settings, extend the desktop to include the TV screen. Then you can just play a video on the PC and display it on the TV screen. You should probably disable audio bitstreaming, since the TV might not support that. Use simply stereo output instead. In thsi case you can play pretty much every format.
Option #2: Install a DLNA server on the PC. Then you can use the media player app on the TV to pull content from your PC. Example of such software us Serviio. Samsung also used to have its own software package for it. In this case you are limited to the formats that the TV supports natively. It is similar to casting, expect that you control things from TV. So pull content instead of push.
