Hi there. I've just updated the player and codecs. I have set the player to download the subtitles automatically - as I always do. Now I get this error message that it cannot parse the subtitles. Please help

I could be an invalid or damaged subtitle file. Does it happen with multiple videos?

No. ONly the one - after a quick check with 3 other episodes in the series.

Then it was just a bad subtitle file.
