Hi, i've tried everything on the planet to get back stereo mix in win 7 which i had for years. It just disappeared for no reason and i was told to find the codec for it. Does anyone know how or which one please?

What exactly do you mean with stereo mix?

For normal stereo output:
Windows Control Panel > Sound > Speakers > Configure
