Activevideo Player/ Bink Video Empty Activevideo Player/ Bink Video

Having issues with some sort of software called "activevideo player" which plays cutscenes in some games. Games running bink video also do not want to load cutscenes properly.

Anyone know what Activevideo player is and if so how can I update it and what do I do to fix it? Is there some codec I can get? Is there some setting I can set in mega codec pack to make both these thigns work properly?
I googled activevideo player and whatever it used to be no longer exists. It's now a IP video service.

I think you mean "ActiveMovie"? That is part of Windows. It should normally not pop-up as a separate window, but be displayed as part of the application/games that utilizes it. When it does pop-up as a window, it means something is wrong. I need more details before I can advice how to fix that.

Copy this log file here:
Codec Tweak Tool > Generate Log

Also give the names of the games that have this problem.

the game froze, minimized, crashed. activemovie as you say, came up, this crashed. it then said, vcredistributable error.
It only ever happened once, most of the time the cutscenes just do not play, only black screen in game that I can skip by pushing start.

I will see if i can gather more information. thanks.

vcredistributable error means you must install the appropriate Visual C++ Runtime. That installer is often bundled with the game as an optional component. Look in the install folder of the game.

You can also get installers here:
