4K mkv video play but lags, and missing equalizer
Hello everyone!
I am using Lenovo V145-15AST laptop running Windows 10(64 Bit)(Home Edition) November Update 2019. I recently installed K-lite Codec Pack Mega Edition, 1st thanks to team Codec Guide to made better and more stable multimedia player, better than VLC.
Now my 1st problem is 4K mkv videos are playing but lags during play. I checked some videos to another expensive laptops, videos are playing well, I mean there is no issues on videos, but my laptop not playing well 4K videos, how to fix this. I recently bought new laptop.
And 2nd problem is equalizer is missing, so unable to customize audio quality, I know there is no issue in default audio setting, but as compare to other multimedia players, equalizer is missing.

Re: 4K mkv video play but lags, and missing equalizer
First check that hardware decoding is working correctly. You should see "H/W" in the status bar of MPC-HC when it is active. CPU usage should be low. If it is not working, then copy MediaInfo details for the file here.
If decoding performance is not the case, then certain settings in the graphics driver can cause issues. FreeSync and Enhanced Sync should be disabled.
Does the lagging only happen in fullscreen of also with a maximized window?
You can get equalizer by using ffdshow audio processor or AC3Filter. Those can be selected during installation.

Re: 4K mkv video play but lags, and missing equalizer
Thank you so much for reply
1. Yes, I noticed that "Playing [H/W]" status not appearing when I play 4K MKV video, only shows "Playing".
But when I play 1080p videos and lower resolution videos, then "Playing [H/W]" status always appears.
2. Yes, FreeSync is disabled by default in my AMD Radeon Software.
3. Yes, lagging happen in "both full screen and maximized window".
4. And thanks to share information for equalizer, it is available in Codec Tweak Tool. Yup! pretty helpful.

Re: 4K mkv video play but lags, and missing equalizer
Your GPU only supports partial hardware accelerated decoding for VP9 video. You could try older or newer version of the AMD driver. Some driver versions have been having issues lately with hardware decoding.
