Full screen playback stutters
Hello,
If you can please help. I have a PC ( i7 7700, 8Gb, GeForce 710, 64-bit W10, all driver uptodate ) what I use for watching movies. I'd like to use the MPC-HC player, but if I put any movie to full screen ( mkv mostly ) it will stutters ( just like if there would not be enought CPU or RAM recource ). I'm using now W10's built in Films&TV player because it's works fine on full screen, but I'm not happy with it's services. I have tried different players ( VLC and 5 others ), but didn't help at all, those were even worse.
If you know any solution please help.
Thank you

Re: Full screen playback stutters
Does it also stutter if you maximize the player window instead of fullscreen? It might be performance issue with resizing video. What is the resolution of your screen?
Test if this works:
MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > "Enhanced Video Renderer" (not the custom presenter one)

Hi,
Thank you for your quick response.
No it's works fine as long as it in window ( any size any resolution, I'm using 4K TV on HDMI ), after I put it on full screen starts stutter. Really annoying.

Re: Full screen playback stutters
Some things to try:
1) NVIDIA control panel > "Adjust desktop color settings"
At the bottom of that page, change the option "Content type reported to the display" from "Auto-select (recommended)" to "Desktop programs".
Don't worry if you don't see this option. It is only available with some screens.
2) Tool to optimize NVIDIA settings for MPC-HC player:

3) Right-click on mpc-hc64.exe file > Properties > Compatibility > Disable fullscreen optimization

Re: Full screen playback stutters
Also try with MadVR as the video renderer.
MPC-HC options > Playback > Output
Disable game bar:

Disable focus assist:

I wish I could give a single easy solution, but there are just so many things on W10 that can cause issues with similar symptoms.
