[Suggestion] Concerning "icaros thumbnail generation explorer plugin"

Thumbnail generation explorer plugin beautifies and improves explorer view, but in real often leads to explorer crash and explorer exec delays.

We no need the options like:
- in tweaker completely disable thumbnail generation;
- in tweaker partially disable thumbnail generation;
- in explorer completely disable thumbnail display mode to support PLUGIN;
- in safe mode find and uninstall broken (for PLUGIN) media codecs;
- in safe mode find and delete broken (for PLUGIN) media files;
- in safe mode find and rename the files to hide them from the PLUGIN;
- uninstall or rewrite unfriend (for PLUGIN) explorer;
- etc (as you can imagine).

We can not terminate OS and user core file explorer due to the extra stuff as "plugin generating picture for file icon shown in several display mode", in addition plugin often written for free on any "most_slow_interpreter_without_any_compile_time_check_with_most_huge_code_to_interpret".

In general we no need "unconditional explorer thumbnails" to playback A/V, esp in basic install.

We need the following options:
- in installer: check box to select (install/do not install) the "icaros thumbnail plugin"

- in tweaker: separated section to control thumbnail files by installed "icaros thumbnail plugin"
-- disable plugin
-- disable selected file type thumbnails

- in tweaker: separated section to control thumbnail files by already installed 3-d party "other thumbnail plugins"
-- disable selected file type thumbnails

In addition, if you have interface, you can introduce "dedicated icaros thumbnails mode" in explorer "list of display modes".

I just have installed K-Lite after long pause but not found solution for the PLUGIN. Have a nice day.

There already is an option in the installer for Icaros. You can customize what gets installed by selection "Advanced" installation mode. Or run the installer a second time to modify the installation.

With the Codec Tweak Tool you can enable/disable thumbnails for each individual file extension.

It also allows you to disable Icaros:
CTT > Thumbnails > Reset

Crashes are not as common as you think. If you have any files that gives problems, then please send me a download link (torrent is ok) and we can fix it.

Icaros only generates thumbnails. It does so on request of Explorer. It has no influence on the display mode in Explorer.
