Automatic compensation for 25fps footage?
Living in the U.S., I sometimes get media files that were created overseas. Any time I try to watch these videos, they play back too fast. I find myself having to manually adjust some setting in an entirely different media player other than MPC-HC in order to get it just right.
Isn't there some kind of codec setting for automatic compensation for different frame-rates? It would help me out a lot.

MPC-HC options > Playback > Speed step > 4%
With that value you can change 25 fps video into 24 fps by pressing the "Decrease speed" button once.
MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer > Internal Audio Renderer
This audio renderer has pitch control, which means it adjusts the audio to the new speed. If you don't want that, keep using the default renderer.

That's definitely helpful. I don't suppose there are any filters or plugins that do this automatically based on the frame rate of the video being played?

Re: Automatic compensation for 25fps footage?
Actually, it seems the framerate may not be the culprit; I've got some 25.000 fps episodes that play back at normal speed, and some that don't.
If I had to guess, I'd say that the ones that play back too fast were pulled off of a television station in the UK that was playing them too fast to begin with. I think I've read somewhere that they'll do that instead of cutting scenes for time. So thanks again, the 4% speed step solution does work.

Re: Automatic compensation for 25fps footage?
European TV uses 25/50 fps, while US uses 24/48 fps. So content made in Europe, but later also broadcast in US will play faster there. Nothing is cut, just played at different speed.
Re: Automatic compensation for 25fps footage?
Film content shot at 24 fps and played on a PAL system suffers a speed increase, basically, because they just round-up the framerate, whereas in the U.S. the pulldown conversion to NTSC keeps the same rate.
