used Handbrake to make Video_TS into an mp4

I copied the contents of my dvd to my desktop, then used Handbrake to make an mp4, with presets for ipad, ipod, normal and one more that I cannot remember and none of them will play on mpc-hc, it always says it cannot render file, but when I click on Video_TS.IFO mpc-hc will play the video.

why will it not play the mp4, do I need to do something else to convert it to an mp4 or an mkv?
