Video and Full Range Levels
Do you know if there is a setting which enables MPC to correctly detect the video levels of a file? So using Davinci Resolve it will export a file with an embedded flag that tells the player if the file should be played back using Full Range data levels (0 to 255) or video range levels (16 to 235).
VLC seems to do this correctly but I can't find a preference in MPC to get this working.
Thanks
Robin

Re: Video and Full Range Levels
The video decoder should detect it automatically if the video bitstream contains the flag. Can you provide a sample file that doesn't work?

Sure here is a link to download a small H264 file and I have also attached a screen shot, it is maybe tough to see, but with this file opened by VLC and MPC and you can see the difference

Let me know if that works for you.

Re: Video and Full Range Levels
It plays correctly here, same as VLC. This file seems to use 16-235 range.
Do you have an Intel or AMD GPU? If so, check the driver control panel. They enable some video processing by default that can negatively impact the video quality. It doesn't affect all rendering methods, so that is why VLC might be unaffected.
