Licensing\Distribution Empty LicensingDistribution

We are looking for a Video\DVD Player software and codecs to install during computer imaging for our school district. We are hoping to clarify on the licensing for the codecs. It is my understanding that some codecs are licensed differently depending on what country is distributing them, like LAME MP3, up until this last year, for example. Are we OK to go ahead and install these on all of our computers? Are there any licensing issues we should be aware of?

The codecs are open source and I see no obstacles for you to use them.
