Error registering vsfilter.dll
Trying to install K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1490_Mega.exe. Install seems to go fine. But at the end when it is registering files, it throws up the following error:
If I click the [Ignore] button, it continues to a successful completion. How do I check if the problem is that the .dll is already registered, or if this is going to be a problem going forward?
I am running 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate.
PS: running the Codec Tweak Tool shows no reference to vsfilter in the log.

Re: Error registering vsfilter.dll
Error 0x5 means "access denied". So it is possible that your virus scanner blocked access while it was scanning the file. Retry might help in this case.
This file is not essential if you use MPC-HC as player, because that has an internal subtitle renderer. If you use Windows Media Player, then registering this file is needed if you want subtitles to work.

Thank you. I tend to use VLC, DivX, and Windows Media Player. So if I run into problems with subtitles, I guess I will pull up MPC-HC and give it a try.
As for virus scanner interference, I am currently only running Malwarebytes and Glary's Malware Hunter as my Kaspersky license lapsed and I got pissed at AVG (can't remember why though ). I need to settle on another AV scanner and give them a try.
