Video freezes with WMV files
Problem
All WMV files with the "WVC1" codec (VC-1 format) causes MPC-HC (x64) to freeze when I click on the Seek Bar. It happens randomly either after 1 time or 5+ times. If I click anywhere on the video/player while it's frozen, it dims the whole player with a white transparent background. I have to force-close it by clicking on the "X" button, which pops up an error message that says "MPC-HC (x64) is not responding". I'm using Standard v14.8.8 with the included madVR v0.92.17, LAV v0.74.1, and MPC-HC (x64) 1.8.6.0 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
Solutions
1: Downgrading to Standard/Full 14.3.6 or below solves the problem and no more freezing while seeking through the WMV files with "WVC1" codec (VC-1 format).
or
2: Open LAV Video, click on the "Formats" tab, and uncheck "vc1" codec. Works for Standard/Full v14.4.0-14.8.8. This solves the freezing problem while seeking, but the problem with this is that it changes the FPS from "movie 23.976 fps (says source filter)" to "movie 23.970 fps (says source filter)" which appears in the debug OSD.
I've never had a problem until 14.4.0 up until the latest version 14.8.8. Standard/Full 14.3.6 and below works perfectly fine. Is this fixable without having to uncheck "vc1" codec in LAV Video in newer versions?
WMV files with "WMV3" codec (VC-1 format) have no problems whatsoever while seeking through the video. It only happens with the "WVC1" codec (VC-1 format).

Re: Video freezes with WMV files
Can you upload one of those files for me? Or tell me where you downloaded it. Then I can test with exact same file.
You can store files at for example:

Re: Video freezes with WMV files
I'm still having freezing issues on Standard/Full 14.9.0 with "vc1" checked in LAV Video. I've noticed the 14.9.0 installer defaults to having "VC-1" unchecked for "LAV video decoder", but that doesn't fully solve the problem since the FPS changes from 23.976 to 23.970 using madVR's OSD.
Is there no way to fix this problem while having "vc1" checked in LAV Video?

Re: Video freezes with WMV files
Either use LAV for both decoding and as source filter for WMV, or use Microsoft in both cases.
The FPS value in madVR OSD is mostly just cosmetic. It uses the timestamps of the video frames for the actual timing.
