problems with playback wmp

Hello, I've got this problem with playback using windows media player, it's only one file let's call it - '10bit x265 HEVC TrueHD 7.1' and with Media Player Classic it runs perfectly but with Windows Media Player it stumbles in certain moments. WMP is my preferable player so I wonder if there's any way to fix this issue. I'm currently using the latest version of K-Lite Codec Park with update 14.7.3, system is Windows 7.

In LAV Video Decoder settings, change the hardware decoder from "DXVA2 copy-back" to "DXVA2 native". That should improve playback performance in WMP. Downside to this change is that subtitles will not work. The performance impact of copy-back is biggest on Intel GPUs and old AMD GPUs.

Which GPU do you have? In case of NVIDIA, setting the Power Management Mode setting to Adaptive in the NVIDIA Control Panel may solve the problem as well.
